Adaptive Finite Element Methods for a Class of Evolution Problems in Viscoplasticity
نویسنده
چکیده
Adaptive finite element procedures are presented for the analysis of broad classes of two-dimensional problems in visco plasticity which involve internal state variables. Several a posteriori error estimates are developed and used as a basis for refinements of meshes of triangular and quadrilateral elements. Algorithms are presented which reduce the computational complexity of the adaptive process and provide for the use of arbitrary local estimates of the approximation error. The resulls of numerical experiments are given which illustrate the effectiveness of the adaptive algorithms and various. error indicators.

Finite element simulation of microstructure evolution during friction stir welding of automotive aluminum parts
7000 series Aluminum alloys are widely used in the automotive industries for structural lightweight components due to their exceptional high strength to weight ratio. However, this class of aluminum alloy is difficult to join by conventional fusion welding techniques so Friction stir welding (FSW) widely is used for welding this alloys. The process has been demonstrated to be effective and is c...

متن کاملCrack Analysis, Using a New Coupled FE-EFG Method
To solve crack problems, some coupled methods have been developed in recent years. Most of these methods have some shortcomings such as the need for a transition region. The finite element and enriched element free Galerkin methods are widely used for this class of problems. In order to take the advantages of these methods while avoiding the disadvantages, it is essential to follow solution app...
متن کاملFast Finite Element Method Using Multi-Step Mesh Process
This paper introduces a new method for accelerating current sluggish FEM and improving memory demand in FEM problems with high node resolution or bulky structures. Like most of the numerical methods, FEM results to a matrix equation which normally has huge dimension. Breaking the main matrix equation into several smaller size matrices, the solving procedure can be accelerated. For implementing ...
